NeroVision Express (part of Nero 6) does that very easily. This all-in-one tool allows you to:
- convert your whatever-format video file(s) to MPEG2
- build a menu (if you want)
- burn the disc

You can't make it easier.

If that's your opinion of someone who worked long and hard on his own free time to make that guide, perhaps you should write one that's better - -

There's a new disc out called an RW. It permits one to re-write a DVD over and over again without ruining single write discs -

Ya want to use a whinny voice here, don't bother - try using it on Mommy -

Hiya rippman,

If you bothered to read the thread you would see that your statement is incorrect - as Eulogy's third post clearly indicates (or maybe your Reading Comprehension is not so good, should have spent more time concentrating in school!!)

IF your statement was correct, then Eulogy had posted in the wrong forum area.

So he got a bit of a ribbing from some other members for his choice of language, that is common here, DEAL WITH IT!!!

Either way, it does NOT excuse YOUR offensive language, which is against accepted practice here.

Eulogy seems to have learnt something from the ribbing and is keeping quiet:
You, on the other hand, do not seem to have learned anything from his example.

Do you have your parents permission to be on the Internet?

Or are you by chance one of those angst-ridden teenagers with the emotional development level of a little kid?

Or, even worse, one of those poor deluded so-called adults (chronologically speaking only) that actually believes that poor grammar, an even poorer vocabulary and atrocious spelling is "KEWL"...?

A little bit of thought on YOUR part before posting would make the world a little easier for you.

Eulogy need not have wasted all those disks, as just about every DVD Player application available for the PC can play a DVD structure straight from the hard drive; hence it can be tested without wasting disks....

As you are obviously new here, learn from this - you will not get many more chances otherwise.

Byeeee...

Well golly Gee there rippman, you might think people who take their free time to write guides to help others are getting paid for their work.

I don't think that an literate little child who can't even spell the word guide should make a statement that someone else?s work is shit and not shut up and produce his guide to demonstrate how a real instructional work should be written -

After noticing that your grasp of the English language pretty much ?SUCKS?, I did a search and guess what I found, not a single guide or constructive post written by you - You did however post words not even in the English language, which wasted my time endeavoring to sort out what it was that you were trying to say - I guess this isn't your first tongue is it ? Talk about a time waster, what have you contributed here ?

"P"

(He'll have to dig out his dictionary to decipher most of the words in excess of 3 syllables, heh, heh) :P)

rippman:

Welcome to our little community.

Your alter-ego was a snotty little sod, but YOU seem ok ;)

If you want to convert AVI to DVD then it is not always a simple process.

DVD VOBS are actually a special kind of MPEG-2 files with extra bits added, so aiming for MPEG-2 is a GOOD IDEA(tm).

I suggest TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator:
http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tds.html

TMPGEnc DVD Author:
http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda.html

AVIcodec:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/avicodec.cfm

and one or more CODECs that you may need (depends on what AVIcodec reports when you point it at your AVI file):
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/

Use AVIcodec to find out what CODECs are needed.
Install the required CODEC(s).

Use DVD Source Creator to create DVD Compliant file from your AVI.

Use DVD Author to create a DVD Structure from the file made by DVD Source Creator.

Test with your software DVD Player application on your PC (I use PowerDVD myself).

If everything is as you want, then burn to DVD with your favourite burning application.

Have Fun....

Most of you need to calm down, I left out a word there, figure it out. daba heelp me out the most, the way that he told me to do it works and leaves the picture size and quality perfect, the guide at the top doesn't work for me at all, sorry for calling it shit, but for me it was.

drchips - it takes time to test before writing, although i haven't tried it, only because i dont have the time to do it.

Yes, there are a few of us here that use "english" english as you put it, and it is a language that has many varied and colourful insults, varying from mild/funny/friendly to blood boiling/snarling/ready for war..

If you want to learn some more, let us know ;)

Eulogy:

I know what the word is!!!
Me...Me... I Know!!!
What do I win for guessing it???

You will just have to make the time to perfect your backup technique, as rushing it will just cost you time, materials and ultimately money (disks cost money, as you have discovered).

While you are still perfecting your technique, you MUST check every step for the correct results.

WHEN you have got it right, and it works every time, just the way you expect/want it to, THEN you can do it quickly.

What is the use of rushing through a multi-stage process without checking if all it does is give you a poor result?

Have Fun....

The simplest one I've used so far is called "HT AVI to DVD" I don't have a link for it but I'm sure you can find it via google

Easy and doesn't require anything more than just a couple of clicks... as easy as it gets!!!

dagon267: This site condones the infringement of copyright material (downloading copyrighted material from p2p programs) but if you want to convert an AVI file to DVD then use the following guide: www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm

Cheers,
Adonis
