I have a korean wii but it has 4.0U firmware .I am a newbie so i dont know much about its details .Also I wish to find out its serial number.My wii is modded though.So how can I tell if it is NTSC or PAL

check under the wii and i thought pal was games in black and white i never really knew what pal was lol i always knew that NTSC was good stuff

does the firmware change NTSC to PAL or vice versa.Can anyone explain?

Well you have USA firmware so I'll guess your on NTSC.

NTSC - (Mainly USA TVs)is a video output of 720x480 pixels (you'll see 480i or 480p (with component cable) possibly flash up on screen depending on your TV).

Pal - (European TVS)is video output of 720x576 pixels (576i or 480p with component cable).

So although someone earlier said NTSC was good stuff, technically its slightly inferior to Pal native resolution.

However modern TVs can handle all types of input both Pal and NTSC. Mine varies it by game and disc region and will give me either 480P, 480i or 576i.

Choice of 480P must be selected under your Wii settings and will only work with component cable installed.
