I've got a problem which I've never had before. I'm ripping a DVD, and the audio and video are quite a bit out of sync, but its not a typical/simple audio/sync problem. When I check the mp3 file it is 3 seconds shorter than the encoded video. Initially the audio does seem in sync, but it gets worse further on, I think for each vob or chapter there's an extra 0.5-1s delay. I created the .d2v project file with dgindex, after having ripped the vobs with AnyDVD, and demuxed the audio track. The only one included was an uncompressed .wav on the disc.
Further with the 2nd disc of the series there is a size issue too (oversized), but that is less of a problem than the audio/video issue.
Also, just to play about a bit I tried this DVD with Handbrake, and instead of ripping the entire disc (9 chapters), it can only seem to do 1 chapter at a time. It sees each chapter as separate titles...
The dvd's been authored in such a way that a separate title is created per chapter, meaning programs think there are several movies on the disc, each 1 chapter long.
I've tried a bunch of things, and what might be close is converting each chaptert to a separate vob, creating .d2v's for each, creating .avs's for each, and then loading them up appended to each oter in vdub (though I can't figure out how to append several .avs files, and have them encode and join rigt after the other).
Anybody know how? Or have any other way out to this problem?
I have also already tried to merge all vobs into one big one, and proceeding as normally with dgindex, gknot and avs but again that gave the same problems.
Seems like you're making it far too difficult for yourself..If all you want to do is convert a DVD to AVI, just rip the full disc to your HDD and then import in AutoGK, FairuseWizard (needs ISO), Avidemux etc..I don't use AnyDVD, but I would try DVDFab HD Decrypter..Or the All-in-One Fab platinum..
The thing with AutoGK its not very flexible with 'advanced settings'. I need to deinterlace the video and set blend=true (not false).But anways, there is not too much interlacing so perhaps I can live with that. However, when I import the .ifo file in AutoGK, it lists each of the chapters as separate titles, i.e. it thinks there are 9 films on the disc...but they are chapters and must be joined..
