Ok, I'm oldschool and am used to mulleter lol, so bear with me.
In abgx, just because no verified .ini file can be found in the database doesn't mean the game is bad, correct (given that all stealth passed, of course).

could just be that there is no retail copy to verify it with yet.

Yeah pretty much, this often happens if the game is brand new and maybe not hit release day yet, but still unless you are 10000% sure your copy is legit i would wait until it can be verified.

Ok, how about this. The game failed verification because it couldn't be found in the database.
So I set the threshold to level 3. THEN it finds all of the SS XEX etc data, and the numbers of the .ini are different.
What's that mean?

just set to level 3, if it autofixes, it's ok. Let it do that. Only time you don't have to worry about it not being verified is if it is your own games that you ripped. but if downloaded, always use level 3.

Ok, so that wouldn't indicate corrupt/tampered game data?

ABGX will warn you if anything is corrupt. But what is happening is your XEX/SS combination doesn't match that of what ABGX has in it's database, and when set to level 3, it will patch the ISO with a verified XEX/SS combination.
Now, if this is your rip, you don't have to have ABGX patch it since you know it is good (as long as it didn't get bad CRCs or anything). I do recommend always running your rips through ABGX because if you had a angle deviate too high or too low, that could through some read flags.

Does firmware 1.6 allow you to play bad rips? Even though bad rips are not safe to play on live, will they still play as good as the originals? Thanks.

Yes it will. It won't let you play games that aren't stealthed or where the video partition is missing for example, but a game could have a bad CRC, AnyDVD corruption, or incorrect stealth files and it would still boot on 1.6.
BTW, they won't necessarily play "as good as the originals". The game might still work just fine, but it's less safe to use on Live than an original or a backup that fully checks out in abgx360.

Hi,
When I use abgx360 on my mac I enter the settings and click launch but nothing launches.
I have an early 2008 macbook.
Is there an alternative to abg?
Could someone help me please?
Thanks

Another thing to make sure about is that your abgx360.ini is correct. Unless they fixed it recently, the default URLs in there aren't correct. I am not at a computer right now (posting from phone), so I can't tell you exactly what it should be. However, I just posted it yesterday, so you should be able to find it pretty easily.

Thanks for the response.
I have just got it to work.
I have a couple of questions. When I hit launch it seems to check iso's that i have previously run through it. I.e i did fight night first, then when I went to do halo 3 it did fight night again before doing halot. Then when I went to do pro evo it did fight night, halo then pro evo. It is very strange.
Secondly during halo it came up with a message that said game has random padding;
Checking Game
ISO: "/Users/XXXXXXXXXXXX/Xbox 360/Stealth/Pro Evo/strange-pes2009.iso"
Size: 7835492352 bytes (SplitVid 2nd wave)
Files in ISO: 37, Folders in ISO: 1
Total bytes used: 6877432568 (94.23%)
Game appears to have random padding
What does this mean?

Weird, I've never heard of that happening. Not sure what it could be.
The random padding thing is normal. My guess of what is that it's referring to some sort of dummy data on the disc that is meant to be used as a buffer between file areas on the disc, or if one particular section needs a certain amount of data in it no matter what. So what they do is just create random stuff and stick it in to make it that size.
One more thing that I don't remember if it was covered in the thread -- make sure you go to the AutoFix tab in the program and set it to Level 3. Then you need to save those settings so that it will always autofix at level 3.

I have no idea, but an uninstall and re-install would probably be a good idea.
