ive had bearshare for a while. i didnt like the new version so i was using bearshare lite 5.1.0. from oldversion.com
in the last few weeks, my bearshare refused to connect. i have avgzone alarm as my firewall and windows firewall wasnt active, and i didnt have any issues. just one day, bearshare refused to connect. i uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times now, and it still wont connect. i never changed any settings or anything while it was working, so there wasnt any reason for it to just stop all of a sudden. im just tired of messing with it though. is there a better p2p out there for downloading JUST music. thats all i need. i have pirate bay for movies and whatnot. i just need a program where i can look up an artist, find there songs, and download one song. if i go to pirate bay and insert artist name under 'audio' i get like 200 torrents with nothing remotely related to what i searched for. its like totally random playlists and stuff that i dont need. i just need something that does what bearshare used to for me, but doesnt have connectivity issues all the time. i heard frostwire is good. ive heard limewire has a lot of virus issues though. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks
Have a look at FrostWire for music, don't know about Bearshare but I alway's get "no connection", check under file's. Make sure it isn't associating itself with torrent's, option at tool's>option's.
Another thought is to learn how to use the torrent search engines. Mininova has a more novice friendly search engine. PB will search the web page ond the title for your key words.
