The Xtractor Pro comes with a serial and a USB connection on the kit itself. I believe the USBxtractor can be used without the connectivity kit. Here is a overview of the USBXtractor http://www.jungleflasher.net/review.html
It is nice to have a connectivity kit power your drive anyways. Using the XBOX 360 can be a pain.

Thanks for the info, I just found this out:
"The 360 Xtractor (pro) also functions as improved Conectivity Kit for powering up any Xbox 360 drive"
Correct me if I am wrong, but I can do either of these (so many options):
360 Xtractor Pro + Spear
360 USB Xtractor + Power Dongle
I feel like I'm on to something, time to do research and find the cheapest combo to go :).
Like I said, correct me if I am wrong though....

Correct. With the USB Xtractor, you should be able to use any connectivity kit since you connection is directly on the key reader via USB. With the spear, you will need to use the Xtractor Pro.

Last questions....hopefully, sorry I didn't ask all at once
1) Will xtractor tools work with JungleFlasher (I'm already used to this program :) )
2) Of the 2 different combos, which is the "newest, latest, and greatest" I guess the USB combo since the link you sent has a date of 4/30/09?
3) where does the other end of the red alligator clip on to? The pic doesnt show.

I have the xtractor pro, best one I think you can get. Paid for itself the day I got it in the mail. Has usb and serial. Sometimes serial is needed.

when? out of the 5 or so lite-ons i've done so far with my xtractor i havent needed to use the serial cable. usb has worked every time for me.

It's needed when windows fails, what works for you won't work for everyone. Some motherboards are picking, so when windows fails, time for the DOS method. Of course, the new mod disc supports usb.

ok, works for me then. hopefully my craptastic desktop doesnt fail on me then. but if it does, then ill try the other two versions of windows that are on it, and then attempt the mod disc i suppose before going to dos.
