I have a box flashed with iXtreme 1.5 and want to re-flash with 1.6. Is the procedeure to re-flash, the same as the original flash procedure? JungleFlasher needed to extract the key from the LiteOn drive, and build a dummy bin file and a few other bins. Are these original bin files needed, or is JungleFlasher gonna make what it needs, from the 1.5 firmware that's on the drive currently?
If it's a LiteOn, and it has 1.5, you don't need to take the drive apart to extract the key. The iXtreme will show the key through JungleFlasher through SATA if it has the iXtreme Firmware on there. If you follow the user guide that is in the GUI of JF, it will guide you on how to reflash!
Get JF setup properly (PortIO + .Net framework 2.0 or higher). Also have ix1.6 firmware in firmware folder within JF folder.
Power on drive and eject tray.
Power off and push tray in halfway.
Power back on and start up JF.
Go to DVDkey tab and check mark dummy.bin only box.
Click "dummy from iXtreme".
JF will dump dummy bin and ask you to autospoof, click yes.
Go to MTKFlash tab and click Lite-ON erase. After 2 prompts, shut drive off and turn back on.
Should get good flash chip properties (0x72 status).
Click Write, and make sure write verifies OK.
There is no ix1.4 firmware for Lite-ON. Only ix1.5 and above. But still, if you have a flashed Lite-ON drive, you don't need a probe. The dummy bin can be dumped through Jungle Flasher.
