Am I the only one that finds it completely amazing after over a year of hype and many months of warnings and TWO setbacks, over 3 million people still didn't find the time to pick up a free digital converter for their televisions.
What does this say for our society? Its too much hassle to get something for free now. Sure, when you go to the drug store or electronics store you had to pick up an extra box instead of just your batteries or cat5 cable.
And to think, these same people had enough time to call their Television providers and complaining that they didn't get any channels.
I myself forgot completely that the conversion was happening, but I have digital tv already and a built in converter in my tv, so I didn't pay it any attention in the first place.
Just thought I'd see what others opinions were on the sorry state of our society.

Here in the UK it's happening at different times at different places - in the area I live in it won't be happening until 2011 (we're one of the last) but "Get set for digital" adverts have been airing for a few years already - hardly anyone doesn't have some form of digital TV now, but we do have to pay at least something whichever means we go down - be it cable (Virgin Media etc.), satellite (Sky etc.) or Freeview (which is built into nearly every TV these days (and for the last couple of years), but with older TVs you need to pay for a set-top box).

Yep, analog is now gone in America. There is still the digital OTA that can be picked up with decent antenna's. OTA HD as well for local channels. If its an older TV you have to buy a Digital Converter(set top box) that is $40-50 but the Government was offering $40 coupons for any digital converter, so you could get them for free or $10. But people still didn't take advantage of this, and now don't get to watch TV until they do. Just amazes me how lazy people can be. They are too lazy to give themselves something to do when being lazy.
