i am looking to buy my self a portable dvd player and i want to know if there are any out there that allow you to plug in a usb with .avi file on it and be able to play them. Thanks.

Most of the DVD players come with the USB. I suggest Daewoo DV2500H is a DVD player with HDMI up-scaling & a USB port which may fit into your requirement. Go through this link : http://www.checkcost.co.uk/dvd-players/c/4280/ . Hope this will help you choose a right DVD player.
