Are you sure it is detecting your Lite-ON? Under drive properties it will say:
Vendor: PLDS
Name: DG-16D2S

yeah in both programs its detecting the drive, i tested the port everytime with xtractor reader so dont think its related to that, and its defo showing up in jungle flasher as it says
vendor plds
name: dg-16d2s
f/w rev: 7485
reserved: 0CA0A1D608CG81180800
im pretty sure ive done everything correctly. cud it be an issue with usb drivers etc?? because prt I/O installed perfectly on both computers, or cud it be a fried dvd drive??

If the drive is showing up in JF, then it isn't fried.
What all COM ports do you have. JF should tell you what they are after you change to a different one on the drop down list.
Here are the drivers for USB. You might have already got them from HERE.

in jungle flashe in using com port 3 on this comp, on my other comp i switched between port 1 and 4, they are all detecting the xtractor in the com port properties when i have them plugged into the relevant one! ill try re-installing the usb drivers, but would this be an issue if its detecting it?? ive checked all my cables and spear etc, all seem fine!

I'm betting it is just an issue with the USB driver. After you change COM ports, what are they saying in JF?
Also check Device Manager to see if it is being detected.

Maybe try a different USB port. Also, could you provide screen shots of JF when you have the drive hooked up.

how did you put it in half way mode? To do this on a lite-on. Hit eject on the xtractor. Power off xtractor. Turn back on and hit eject and turn off before it closes.

ok i uninstalled everything and re installed, still the same problem, though i think it may be due to my via raid controller, when i uninstall my driver for my via as said in the guide, it wont recognise the xbox dvd drive, but with it installed it recognises it but wont extract the key! am i doing something wrong with port I/O ??? i installed them perfectly together with the usb drivers as outlines on the extractor website, also doing the close tray thing correctly, here some screen shots

Uncheck the box that says Dummy.bin only. You might not be able to get the serial data from the drive and will have to manually enter it which isn't a big deal. See if you can get anything from that.

Not for sure why it keeps re-installing itself. Try:
Disabling VIA card in Device Manager.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and delete the viamraid.sys.
Re-enable card.
Re-boot PC.

This is the proper method. What OS are you running?

So after you disabled, deleted viamraid.sys, and re-enabled it, did it come back as the 3249 card?
