Ripped a DVD with DVDFab 6. Tried to process with DVD-RB (0.98) and it stops saying "Detected ANGLE...". So I open the files in DVD-Shrink 3.2 and in the main Full Disc window I see the main movie as Title 5. Without compression it's just under 5GB. So where are the angles? Looking at the disk structure in Re-author I see two angles for Title 5, each a fraction smaller than the size listed in the Compression pane. Each angle appears in Preview to be the exact same video. In DVDFab 6 both also appear identical.

Running FixVTS on the rip makes no apparent change to the disc structure, but now DVD-RB seems to be able to process it, though in Preparation Phase it notes that "Angle and/or Interleaving are present".

So .. uh .. why are there two angles that show the same thing? Do they occupy the same data sectors? How to tell? And which one to choose if I had to make a choice?

Is this maybe a sneaky way to stretch the material to occupy a whole 9GB DVD and make ripping difficult?

There are many ways to remove the angles but you can just select the correct angle with DVD Shrink and process to a new folder. Then you can use DVD-RB.

What version of DVDFab 6 are you using? The free version or the paid version?

Try using the customize mode.
You can also use PgcEdit.

Free version.

I saw the thread elsewhere on multi-angle movies and about PgcEdit. I'll use it as a last resort.

DVD-RB ran about 80% then crapped out. I'm trying DVD Shrink now. But I still wonder if there really are two angles on this disc?

How's that possible?

Doing movie only, you simply select the one you want and back it up to a new folder.

Camera angels are just that, when they make a movie there is more than one camera hence multiple camera views are possible so you get a differing perspective of the same movie, personally i don't bother with them & just copy main movie with perhaps the odd extra
