This is what I was looking forward to most. That and tethering. Once I realized neither were available I didn't really care so much for the update. It's nice, but some apps don't work correctly anymore, and the landscape mode is also limited to apple apps for now until creators include the feature. The new spotlight feature is really nice however. It looks through everything on the phone in all applications.

I downloaded this on the day of release and it nuked my ipod touch. So now Apple is fixing it for free. Then I took the chance and put it on my wife's and it worked no problems. We both own the iPod Touch 2G.
My suggestion, take the chance if you wish but beware, you could have a brick if not careful.
Overall, the new features are an improvement.

What! They have to PAY for a firmware update?!? Wow, there went my plan to buy ANY Apple product EVER for the rest of eternity. That's too bad, too, I was really thinking about it. And look at what some of the 'improvements' are: They range from basic bug fixes and UI improvements to security updates (remote wipe), to the ability to give Apple even MORE money through the ability to purchase content from the iStore! How cool is that? NOT!
