I want to be sure that my NAND is saved to my SD card and Bootmii is installed correctly.
steps taken with orginal and 2nd SD card;
uploaded boot.dol from sd card
click bootmi
prepare sd:files load
click install bootmi as boot 2:files load
when i loaded my 2nd SD into my pc:it includes
installer log and
bootmi folder which consists of arm,boot.bin:ppcboot.elf:bootmii.ini
is this correct for the NAND backup and how do i know that the bootmii is installed?
thanks guys esps AMatthews

You'll know Bootmii is installed when the blue light blinks twice in rapid succession when you start the Wii without your Bootmii SD card.
I have at the root of my file my Nand back-up (528mb), a bootmii file (with the same content you have) and the installer text document.
You don't mention the Nand back-up being on your SD?

Thanks for replying back wibbles, I don't have the NAND file.
How did you get your bootmii installed to the Wii?
I finally got the Bootmii up but it only appears if I put in my orignal SD card that also has the homebrew stored on it.

bootmii will only start with the SD card that has the boot files. that's how it's suppose to work.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

I get backup failed when trying to backup the NAND.
The first time I tried to back it up, I accidently misread the instructions on the screen and pressed start on my gamecube controller and it skipped near the end of the backup.
I rebooted the wii and now it comes up the error backup -1 when attempting to backup up the NAND.

Never mind. I reformatted the card and backup NAND was successful.

ERROR 2011 WHEN INSTALLING REV 10 through network installation.
I know that you can install it through Wad,but I do not have the wad file.
Which rev do you recommend to use with usb loader gx?And how can I fix this 2011 error?
Thanks.

Personally for GX i'd say install rev 13a as its needed with 002 fix for some new games.
As regards 2011 it suggests you don't have the right custom ios and I'm going to guess you installed homebrew straight onto 3.3 without any downgrade.
You should look to install ios16 wad with wad manager 1.3. Exit homebrew.
Then use Homebrew wad manager ios16 (note this is a different wad manager) and install cios fix and cios249. Exit homebrew
Then use wad manager 1.3 to install cios36
You should then be good to go and can install whichever revision you prefer by network install.
You should find files on the net in nice packages.

Thanks AMatthews, wibbles, and ceeja for helping me.
I just have one small issue left.
usb loader gx is giving me a problem.I have the latest version installed where it allows 30 sec i believe to detect the usb drive.
l have a lexar 2gb pen drive for the time being. The usb loader gx will only function properly if I reconnect the pen drive for usb loader to redetect each time I want to play a game, change settings, or different games.
Otherwise, it comes up w/a black screen with error exception DIS,stack and code dump.
the usb loader v1.5 works without having to disconnect and reconnect the hdd.Im using cios36rev10 btw.

Get Bootmii working on Boot 2 first, back up your Nand and let the system verify it (don't skip that part).
Once your brick protected you can start tweaking safely.
Look for a stable version of GX (personally I use Loader 1.5) there are a lot of revisions of GX and the latest is not necessarily the best.
Your also not going to get too far with a 2GB pen drive, either get an external hard drive or large pen drive.
