ok Im frustrated I updated to 4.0U through a tutorial using 4.0U firmware fix for HBC. but there was a problem with installing wii wads, so I deleted IOS37 based on some recommendations, deleting IOS37 (using anytitle deleter) screwed up the HBC. I formatted the wii to factory default. so now the menu says 4.0U but the backups dont work and firmware prog in HBC give me ret= -116 and ret=-1 error. I am able to play originals though.
So what do you guys suggest? Should just update the wii thru nintendo servers? did I semi brick my wii?

Try deleting HBC, reinstalling it through Bannerbomb, and then downloading This and putting it in your apps folder and install any wads through this. Also add This to play backups. Hopefully everything will work for you, I have read that bannerbomb works on some 4.0s.
