i am trying to connect my x360 to my tv with hdmi. i plug in the cable from xbox to tv. change tv to hdmi and all i get is the picture no sound. ive tested cable with my dvd player and all fine. do i have to change anything in the x360. thanks for help

Have you changed your resolution on your 360? Should be like 720 1080 or 1080i?

Could be what happened to me. My TV Went out, the HDMI connector worked fine for about 30 minutes then just stoped working for sound. The back plane on the TV Died. Try it on another TV or take it to where you bought it and ask them to try it.

yes i can change resolution from 480 upto 1080i no problems but no sound

Sorry guess I didnt read that well enough. Before I got my Yamaha reciever I had to rund the component cables for sound to the TV also to get sound. Just the audio not the Video. See if that works.

tv is about 13mths old just out of warenty. when i plug in the hdmi cable it wont let use any other cable to surport the sound. i have a dvd player with hdmi and when i plug that in everything works fine i may have a faulty xbox

if i remember correctly, a while back there was an update that messed up the hdmi connections on some 360s. but i think MS released another update shortly after this to solve the problem. if you want to do a search feel free to, i think this was about 4+ months ago though? maybe even longer back.
