Heres the breakdown:
I have a ck3 pro and probe, now a via 6421 card, loaded the usb drivers for the ck3, have I/O port32 loaded, disabled the via drivers....i think thats everything that needed to be done, if Im missing something Im sure i've readied my computer.
Ive sucessfully modded every drive except the lite-on now, which is my last and final challenge. First problem I ran into was no matter what I could do, I couldnt get my computer to see the drive using JF or even using all the DOS progs. I bought a via card and voila it now sees it. Going forward, the new problems involve extracting the key. I click the get key and JF does its thing and a few moments later i get
.........Serial Data is Bad
Ive tried numerous things: changing the position of the drive tray, power cycling, scraped the green off the board around the r707 hole, changed the angle of the probe, pushed the probe down more/less, and I keep getting the same result.
The problem is the same regardless of what method I use: 360 mod disc, iprep or JF, I still cant produce the key.
Im unsure if my probe is toast, it does have a constant green light. my ck3 as far as I know is fine, before this lite-on i modded a samsung and benq with no problems. Ive even decided to try the screwdriver bridge and same results. Im at a lost, I dont have the capabilities or know-how to solder but if it needs to be done I have someone that could do it for me.
If anyone has any guidance or suggestions for me that would be great! Before I put my head through the wall!!!
Thanks

Stupid question I know but you are touching the third hole from the edge correct?
I use a Xtractor Pro which does both serial and usb. Serial has never been an issue while usb is a pain. I don't know anything about the product you are using but if it has a serial, I would say use that since you don't have to instally any drivers for it.

yeah its the correct hole. i dont think i've tried the serial when using JF so ill give it a try but i did use it when doing the iprep and 360 mod disc methods since they are DOS based and you have to use the serial cable. no luck on those though either.

I just did 2 lite-on with no issues..
Is the CK3 powered on before starting JF?
Are you getting any errors when starting JF?
In the Drive Key 32 TAB is the Com Port properties complete?
What colour is the probe light when you place it on the R707 Slot?

Yes, ck3 is powered on just before starting JF
Are you getting any errors when starting JF?
no errors
In the Drive Key 32 TAB is the Com Port properties complete?
yes, it lists the usb to serial driver and that the port is ready, everything is complete when its on the correct com
What colour is the probe light when you place it on the R707 Slot?
Heres the part where i think my probe may be dead, I have a solid blue and green led before i touch it to r707, once touched the green light dims....no matter how much i clean around the r707 or put the probe at different angles it doesnt get bright again until i pull it off

On mine the green light comes on when you probe the R707 so you might have a problem with the probe. Check the connection on the end.

I wasnt sure if it was dead or not so i've tried other methods too. bridging r707 with a screwdriver, using a wire between r707 hole and a ground(one of the mods on another site says thats how he does it)everything resulted in serial data is bad. Ive checked the connection and as far as i can tell everything looks fine with the probe but i've also read that if theres a solid green light at all times its toast. Only thing I havent tried is soldering the points together yet

I also have this problem. when i turn on my ck3 lite the probe turns blue but also there is a dim green light before I touch anything. I figured it was the probe so i just bought another one and as soon as i plugged it in the same thing happened. I also read about this happening om the team executer forums but they never replied to the posters. so I wonder what is really going on. I bought both probes from different sites (diveno and modchips.ca) so maybe they are making defective probes? I can also flash any other drive so i don't think its the process or the ck3.
