Hi. My PS2 has a Messiah 2 modchip fitted, and I am trying to use the Action Replay Max with it. However, when I try to use any backup game with the Action Replay, it fails to detect the game.

So does the Action Replay Max work with the Messiah 2 modchip. if it does, then what am I doing wrong. it's not the PS2 as games work fine without the Action Replay.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Most likely Messiah 2 can't handle multiple disks , if you eject the AR Max and put in your backup the chip can't run it . I suggest you use Codebreaker that you can boot from the memory card as .elf . AR doesn't work from the MC .

Hi. That does seem workable. How exactly do I go about getting it setup to run from my memory card.

There is still one problem though. I have PAL PS2, and a number of my games are PAL (although I also have a fair amount of NTSC games). To my knowledge, Codebreaker is only for NTSC games, so that means I can't cheat on PAL one's.

Is there a good alternative to allow me to cheat on PAL games as well as NTSC ones.

You must search for a Codebreaker elf file , version 9.2 or 10 ( they say 9.2 is best ) it's around 3 MB , and launch it from the memory card . The core package indeed has only NTSC games but you can add your own PAL cheats ( cbc extension )

So do I just need to put the file onto the memory card and it'll launch automatically, or do I need to do something else. And will I need the Codebreaker CD as well

You will copy from usb stick to memory card using UlaunchElf , find it in iso format and burn a disc . You don't need a Codebreaker CD because the elf is enough .
When you launch just use ULaunchElf .

If you check my profile, and then look for "my folder" I have PAL codebreaker for PAL games.

They are cracked to work with modchips etc, you just have to go to "options" and click "Disc tray" to "off"

I have the CB 10 ELF that I made myself for hddloader, so its patched and I have a codelist. I uploaded the PCB folder, so one could transfer it to memory card.
They are NTSC codes

Yes you can find NTSC Day 1 files at codetwink.com and for PAL go here

And for unofficial NTSC Day 1 files or PAL codes, go to codemasters Project forum.

For those unofficial codes I just use the "CBv9.2cplusCBCHDL" to add them.
