i think i read somewhere that it's possible.. does it works with all the different drives? (i don't know which one i'll get yet.)
my motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-K8NXP-9 here are the specs:

off the topic, do you know if i'll get better sounds if my headphones will be plugged to the TOSLINK FIBER-OPTIC? (rather than through the TV)

Only real way to know is to try it out. If it doesn't work, get a VIA SATA card with the 6421 chipset. It works for all drives.

problem is i'm living abroad so when relatives are coming to visit they will bring me my new xbox, and i need to know whether to spend another £8 and buy this card too.. (the cost is double where i live)
so i'll be grateful if anybody can confirm it can be done...
edit: just found a store which sells it for about 50$!
