jungleflasher and a7v600-x (via VT8237 (=6420)) cannot recognize hitachi drive..??

i've got a a7v600-x mainboard with a vt8237 (southchip) and a via 6420 raid sata controller,and i have been trying for hours to get jungleflasher to recognize my hitachi drive. it will not, i cannot find any options in the bios about the onboard sata controller. so i cannot disable raid or anything like that. in the end, after 4 hours i used slax and that worked immediately. it was in mode b and i was able to flash with jungleflasher. but i don't think this trick will work with v79 drives, since slax cannot be used i believe to? or...?

anyways, is there anyone with the same mainboard/chipset that had any success getting their onboard sata controller to recognize the hitachi drive and using jungleflasher to put it in mode b? any tips, tricks are appreciated

I have had the same problem with a number of 46's & 47's. I had to use slax to get to mode B and then JF to do the flash.

I've never dont a 79 tho sorry

Slax can be used for 79s. I pretty sure that is the main reason why Slax was made was for the 78/79 ROM revision.

You just need the audio CD for the 79. Piece of cake. Just follow the JF guide.
