Hi Guys,
I appologise for asking but..

I have downloaded the bootmii files and unzipped them to a blank formatted sdcard and when i power up the wii and load my homebrew channel v 1.01 nothing is showing when it reads the sdcard?

I renamed the installer.elf to boot.elf as the tutorial says and still nothing?

Im hoping im missing something obvious because I cant see whats up.

The freshly formatted sdcard is empty totaly except for the bootmii files they are in the root of the card and are not in any folders and I wonder if this is whats up?

Files are:

installer.elf now named boot.elf
Im unsure if the following 3 files are needed but they came with the download and i tried with or without them and no difference.

I did the twighlight hack on this wii so dont have a banner bomb option and tried this in the homebrew channel I have installed. It started as a 3.4 pal and is now at update 4 with no other porblems that i know of.

I load up the wii with the sd card in the wii and when loaded choose the homebrew channel from the wii's list of channels on opening..

I tried opening a different sd card with my other wii files and its being read in the homebrew channel without a problem i loaded up wad manager 1.4 just to test.

Id apprcaite any thoughts or pointers.

Thanks again
L :-)

It's loadmii that will accept a file from the root of your SD card.

If you aren't using loadmii then Make a folder called apps in the root of your SD card.
Inside the apps folder make another folder called Bootmii Installer (or whatever you want to call it)
Put the Boot.elf in there.

You don't need the other files.

You can use bannerbomb even if you used the twilight hack in the past.

But you don't need Loadmii to boot with bannerbomb either. Bannerbomb will boot any dol/elf file that has been renamed to boot.dol/boot.elf and placed in the root of the SD card.

Just install bannerbomb on the SD card then place the Bootmii installer.elf (renamed boot.elf) at the root of the SD Card.

Or follow AMatthews directions above.

Both will work.

Thanks guys,
Gave it a go thismorning and to my dismay I cant do a boot2 install..

It says the current boot1 wont allow a boot2 install and i can only do an IOS install.. Thats so sad!!!!

Im not sure what my best options are now to make a back up of my NAND for emergencies? Do I have any other options?

Am I just as well to leave things be and hope i dont brick the wii with future updates and cIOS's and wads that are needed.

My wii must be to new huh?
I may be better looking out for a second hand wii thats a little older?

Thanks agin guys :-)

Hi,

I have the exact same problem.

My Wii is Japanese and has system menu 4.0J. I have no idea if it is moded but it could play Guitar Hero original european version at system menu 3.4J but now it only plays japanese games.

I have followed the bannerbomb instructions and have tried different bannerbomb files (aad), two different sd cards (both checked to be working for storage on the Wii by transferring saved game data from wii to SD)

All was done according bannerbomb homepage with private folder in SD root and HackMii installer.elf renamed to boot.elf. No pop-up when inserting SD card...

All I want to do is be able to play Guitar Hero and Wii Fit original European version.

Anyone can help?

PS I now it was bad to update to 4.0J but it was mistake
