Hi all!
I was looking for a good free replacement for Nero. Tried Burnaware free - oops, no CD/DVD copy in free edition. Tried ImgBurn - powerfull, but too complicated for some quick tasks like "Hey, pal, create a copy of this ASAP!" because of lots of settings. Tried CDBurnerXP - problems with verification after burn - the check box sometimes works and sometimes does not. Looked at DeepBurner - some friend said, they had problems with some DVDs / hardware combinations. Uff...
And so while googling I found that there was Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 free. I went to the Ashampoo site to see description but there were no such an old version. So I decided they abanoden it and are giving away for free. While searching for more info, I found this website:
and later some other places where I can download Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009 free with registering and getting a full key from Ashampoo.
But.. weird - no any signs of this version 2009 on ashampoo web site! There is only version 9. Although if I run search for Burning Studio Free at ashampoo, I get these two interesting links:
http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1..._4877_2_USD.htm
as you see, both links contain Trial, but v9 says:
"FREE time-limited full version"
and v2009:
"FREE full version key without limitations"
So I am confused. What do they call version 9 and what 2009 and how they differ? Why there is no trace of v2009 on the products list so I can compare both? And is v2009 really free forever? I can live with Ashampoo news-spam to my e-mail if this program does everything I need.
And I need the following:
-easy copy CD / DVD (video - no, I do not need automatic DVD ripping, audio, data);
-burning ISO images;
-burning data, video, audio CD/DVD;
-burning bootabvle DVD/CD with various emulation modes (floppy, harddisk, no emulation);
-verifying after burning;
-setting speed MYSELF: I was mad to see how Nero resets it back to Max speed if I set it to some lower value too fast;
-multisession support;
-simple straight-forward GUI.
I guess that is all. Maybe someone is using free Ashampoo - then I would like to know, which version, how long and what is it capable of?
Here is the (unlimited) free 2009 version: http://www.v3.co.uk/vnunet/downloads/223...ing-studio-2009 (least it was) Not familiar with v9 but using v7 and don't see much difference. I used 2009 for awhile; should do all you want. Ashampoo will send a lot of email's touting various product's but that can be discontinued. PS: I had already registered v7 but tried 2009 to see the difference, just reinstalled v7 when there were none I saw.
