Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying swapdisc 3.6 and using that to play some burned backup games or trying to use USB advance to use a hard disk to play back up games. Will the first, ie using swap disc, damage my laser in any way? I think spch7003 is a v12 model, but I'm not sure and I heard that playing backups will severely damage your laser to the point where after a month or so it will blow! What would you guys recomend for me to play backups on that model in the way which would keep my ps2 in tip top shape? Thanks.

Swap magic won't make your laser burn out any faster than playing originals in a V12.
modchip , you would need the laser fix.
swap magic , but then use that too install fmcb 1.8 and use the ESR r9b elf to play backups.

So I managed to install MCboot, I'm not quite sure what to do with the ESR files though, any ideas?
