I know how to patch games and all that jazz, but if i'm lazy, or don't feel like updating my drive firmware to support newer games / security features, if I unplug my ethernet, will I be safe to play a game? or can you get banned for things you don't do on the live?

theres a ton of old posts and even topics on this. There are people who claim to be ban that never had an ethernet cable plugged in while playing backups and still have gotten banned. the exact reason/method for banning is unknown so theres no definite answer but i wouldn't risk it.

Thanks man, yeah i'm not sure. i've heard that it's generally a phone home system online, and watermarked achievements, but who knows. Thanks though for the reply. I'm new to this community, but they seem to cover every topic I enjoy haha
