Question about burning super smash bros brawl (DVD9)

I've searched around on many different forums and I'm getting a mixed response about which media to burn dual layer games onto. Availability and price isn't really a problem but some people are telling me I need to use verbatim Dvd+R for dual layer games and some are saying verbatim Dvd-R. Right now like most people I burn single layer games onto Dvd-r not +r but I just want a general opinion of what media worked for you guys before wasting any money.

Also if a different brand other then verbatim works best for this particular game then I would like to know, thanks.

Also what is the best speed to burn backups, for example if I had 1x and 2x available is slowest speed necesarily best?

I burned mine to GQ (Great Quality, which is typically a misnomer) at 2.4x

i actually downloaded a shrunken version that fit on a dvd-r works great...

game was just under the 4.5 limit beat it and played with no problems...

Yes I agree, I also shrunk mine to find out half the movies didn't play and the other half were choppy. Also there was a really annoying glitch where random movies played in the middle of classic mode, that's why I want to try a dual layer. I just ordered a verbatim dual layer Dvd-r, hopefully it'll work.
