How can I compress 5 dvd films to the size of one dvd-r disc

Can anyone tell me how I could compress 5 full dvd films so that I could fit them all onto one dvd-r disc and what software I should use to do it with.

well you can compress a dvd into something called avi
which is audio video interleaved that way it usually rips a dvd so that it can fit onto a cd so 5 would easily fit onto a dvd as for software sadly not much help never done it here

Just out of curiousity, why the need to get five on a disc?

I take it from your earlier thread that you already used Shrink on the files until you couldn't shrink them anymore. I'm no expert but I'd say that if they are compressed as far as they can go you should look into converting to a different format.

You might check out the DiVX/Xvid or VCD/SVCD forums to see if this is possible.

in the movie hunting red october, it was asked "Can you launch a nuclear missile horizontally?" Answer, "Yes, but why would you want to?" 5 movies on one dvd!!!??? it must be for storage purposes, because the quality would be absolutely aweful! AVI is the only way to go...i love this forum..you never know what you'll see asked next.
