Wii recognises newer games such as Zelda TP, however when you attempt to launch them the screen goes black, pushing buttons on the wiimote results in all for lights flashing furiously and the only response i can get is holding the power button on the console to turn the system off.
I've read homebrew apps are able to change the override the region coding on the wii and even change the setup menu's to english (which would be a godsend!).
Any thoughts, ideas, answers etc. would be very much appreciated.
Twilight Princess is NOT a new game by any means. I guess that's not really important though.
To answer your question better, you don't need TP to softmod anymore, thanks to the bannerbomb exploit. I suggest you read through the instructions along with the FAQ here where there are links to get the Homebrew channel and BootMii. It's pretty easy to follow.
After that get AnyRegion Changer and of course read everything carefully (I haven't used this myself, so you're on your own with questions on it). Also, use BootMii to copy your Wii's NAND just in case something goes wrong.
Remember, something like a region change is a little more risky than the average backup playing, or whatever. Hope this helps you out!
