Thread title changed from "need help withy my new wii!", a title in a forum of the same name is as bad as "Please Help". In future please see here about thread titles ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/440385
larry & other dudes, sorry didnt get to reply at once coz just got back from the province and we didnt have internet access there. regarding my prob.,i googled it and saw one made by tekseen but it looks risky to do it. do you think i could use the same method what i did to my jap wii to this korean wii? the method i used on my jap wii is install HBC then installed cios8 then downgraded it to 3.2j so when i use wanikokos region changer on it it would end up in usa 3.2u but its semi-brick so ill use the semi-brick disc to fix it,then install back up loader. do you it'll work ok? by the way, whats the difference between wanikokos region changer & anyregion changer..what more better to use?
Use the Anyregion changer, I did it to my Japanese Wii, and now it's 100% North American
basically the main thing you'll need to use is anyregion changer, which will take a LONG time, but remember that it's basically taking the files on your wii and rewriting it into english...
When you're finished, there's a few key important things you're going to need to do. First off, if you have an account going in the Wii store, you're going to have to go in and close that account (otherwise you won't be allowed into the US or Canadian store).
Secondly, the weather and news channel are still going to remain intact on your prior language (Korean?) so you'll need to take the wii channel deleter for NTSC U to remove those... hmm what else, if you had Wiikey, you'd also need to reinstall all of those (especially the first one) in order to reactivate that...
I dunno, I did a Japanese wii, and it's completely fine, I hope any of that helps :)
thanks for the info. but i have 1 more question if i use anyregionchanger to switch to american version will get semi-bricked coz when i did my jap wii after i used wii region changer to change my wii to american version i cant access my wii settings page it goes to opera browser. will anyregionchanger prevent that from happenning? thanks again.
The any region changer took a while, but honest, it works, it takes your entire system and writes it with the software putting you at square one (if say you had a wiikey, you'd have to set everything up again)
Actually, as long as you can get into the homebrew on your semi bricked one, I'm sure it could clean the system up for you on that one as well.

if you ever successfully change your korean WII to USA, update the thread so other user with the same problem should be able to follow how to proceed/fix.
