Hi
Bought a Xbox 360 off ebay for my son when we got it I tried a disc and got an error message in several different languages to put the disc in a 360 machine to play it. I then open and closed the draw and it worked. After around 10-15 minutes playing (it has been less at times) it would freeze. After reading various forums I found I may have the beginnings of the RROD up until now I have seen no red lights. I have just completed the Xclamp fix and I am still getting the same problem but I dont seem to have had the inital error message about putting disc in a XBOX to play it.

yes you must heat up the gpu to complete the fix,,just unplug the fans and wait for the 2 red lights,,,wait about 20mins,,,,hook everything back up and enjoy,,cheers

I had this same issue a few months back... I will put money on it being caused by overheating. I bought an intercooler that sits on the back of the 360 and i've never had the problem again.

hey bladesman.

I bought a 360 from Techpro on ebay and I had that issue after about 2 days of playing it. I disassembled 360, performed the "penny trick", unplugged the fans and turned on 360. I got 2 red lights after a few minutes.

Left 360 for about a hour and came back to it, plugged back in fans and reassembled. it has been working trouble-free for the last 4 or 5 months. :).
