Well I got an xbox that had a broken BenQ drive in it and I swapped it with a Toshiba-Samsung ms25. The problem is, I can't write the spoofed firmware to the drive. I may have already but I'm not too sure. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong can you please walk me through a step-by-step on how to get this working. I tried playing games on it but it reads that game and it says "Play DVD"

Something else I noticed is that when I load up the Samsung ix16.bin it loads up as ms28 while my drive is ms25. Does this problem have anything to do with that?

Here are some pics and the JungleFlasher Logs:

Spoof!

Is it already spoofed?

Vendor Mode.

Custom Firmware!

Target not spoofed?

Invalid Write?

Yes your Samsung is spoofed as a BenQ. In your second picture drive properties say PBDS-VAD6038 which is what it is suppose to say. In your 3rd pic your flash chip is a SST and status is 0x70 which is Samsung.

Not for sure exactly why you are getting an invalid status but the drive looks properly spoofed. Is it not working in the XBOX 360?

Just to confirm this is the DVD key from your original BenQ drive:

FEC71A5F22442B83B56315C258EBD241

Normally the "Play DVD" error is when the DVD key doesn't match or you are trying to play a Wave 3 game on firmware lower than ix1.51.

The part that gets me is that it is not reading originals. Has there ever been an issue with this Samsung drive you are using?

No there was never a problem.

Is there a way I can flash back to original firmware and start over? I still have the original .bin I just don't know how to do it.

You could try flashing the Samsung firmware back and then back to spoofed ix1.6. Load the original Samsung bin into the target and go over to MTKflash. Get the drive in vendor mode and write.

Resolved!

There was something going wrong with JungleFlasher.

I made a bootable USB drive with iPrep and put my Original Samsung firmware in it and flashed through DOS.

After that JungleFlasher realized it as an ms25 and I wrote the Spoofed firmware and it finally worked.

So basically I had to reset the drives firmware back to regular in iPrep and flash the spoof through jungleflasher again.

Glad you got it resolved. When all else fails, boot to do DOS.
