During my ongoing quest to find a decent p2p file sharing program, I am experiencing the dreaded Blue Screen crash while using p2p. I have been getting this for some time now, I have tried quite a few file sharing programs now with the same result. At some point during downloads, the computer crashes and I get this error:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL
It also resets my clock to Pacific time, which is 2 hours earlier than it should be. It seems to come from my networking card, however, I only crash if I use file sharing programs, as long as I just surf the net, it runs fine. I have tried different programs, different tweaks to control download speed and CPU usage, and any updates I can possibly get for my card. Windows update has nothing that helps either. One strange thing that I can't decide is a factor or not is that I don't think I had this problem until after I had reinstalled Windows following a virus infection. I can also download directly from websites with no problem; I only crash if I download from file sharing. I am currently using Shareaza and really like it, I get amazing speeds from it and many files.
Additionally, I have noticed that no matter what p2p program I use, I get many downloads and everything is good in the beginning, yet after a while the downloads get slower and slower (sometimes even stopping for hours on end) while the uploads continue full throttle. Of course, while the downloads are stalled I don't crash either. If a download happens to start, then......Blue Screen. This is getting frustrating and I wonder if anyone has some info I could use, I would really appreciate it.
I, among others, have so had it with certain websites.
