Cannot get MAME to work on Wii for the life of me

I have followed every instruction I can find on how to play MAME on homebrew. All I get is a message saying it can't find the mamefs-fs file. I have this file on the SD root directory along with the boot.elf. I'm pretty sure I have everything where it's suppose to be. The mame folder,roms folder, and the folder in the apps. I'm very familiar with emulators and getting them to work. But this is driving me crazy! Any help would be awesome.
