Hi
In Utorrent it has the triangle down the bottom saying no incoming connections. I have done everything it says to do on portforward.com but it still says the ports are closed. I've tried many different ports but none of them work. I have disabled UPnP port mapping in Utorrent but it still doesn't work. When i unplug my Dlink Dir-300 router and just use my modem it works.

Thanks for any help

You have to forward a port in your router as well as set a static ip address: http://www.portforward.com/english/route...00/Utorrent.htm Follow the link in the guide for a static ip guide, just pay attention to the DNS Server and Default Gateway being the same (can't use them).

I did that and the light stayed green for a little while but then turned back yellow. My firewall is trend micro and my modem is Dynalink Rta- 1320. If that will help.

Thanks

See if this help's but I'm not sure why the light was ever green or why just the modem work's: http://www.portforward.com/english/route...20/Utorrent.htm Also, make utorrent an exception in your firewall, use a port over 10,000, maybe 50,000 and keep UPnP off when using your router. Some fluctuation between yellow-green is normal, depending on connection's but the light should stay primarily green. What ISP are you with?

If you get green when you take the modem out of the equation, then the issue is not with the firewall or modem, but with the router.

Since you got green for a bit after forwarding and then turned yellow, there are a few possibilities. Did this happen while uTorrent was active in one session or from one session to another?

jeffw224 is right, if thing's are fine without the router, it's the problem. Seem's like the modem should be too though. All I can suggest would be if that's a wireless router, connect directly and, also, when you port forward the router, forward it first and then enter the port in utorrent after. Edit: you can try lowering Global connection's at option's>preference's>bittorrent (2 I think).

I did that and its still not working. I think i might just buy a network adapter or splitter and just plug the router in when i need it. Would i be able plug the router into the network adapter or splitter.

Don't know much about them but ftom what I see, yes. They say you may get better performance from a router and adapter of the same manufacturer.
