Hey guys, I was flashing my hitachi 59 and jungle flasher froze on me and now it's bricked. So I'm now considering getting a replacement drive and I was wondering if there were any restrictions as to what drive I can get, and also which drive would be the best replacement (read: easiest to mod, i dont wanna have to deal with rubber bands or opening the dvd drive)

Get a BenQ VAD6038. Easiest to flash and the drive supports Bad Flash recovery so you will never brick your drive again.

thx man from what ive read those are the best drives, also hitachi's really suck because the new firmware takes forever to come out because there are like 10 different hitachi's. Looks like I'll be going with the benq, hopefully it's compatible with my mobo's sata ports

What SATA chipset does your motherboard have?

Hmmm, it might be ICH8 or ICH9 which I believe should be able to read and flash a BenQ.
Edit- Actually, looking at a spec sheet for the that motherboard, it looks like it has ICH6, I may be wrong though. A good program to tell is made CPUID and the program is CPU-Z.
I have ICH7 and I haven't had any luck with it. I had to get the VIA SATA card with the 6421 chipset.

You can try to see if your ICH6 will work, if not definitely go with the VIA 6421, it does all 4 DVD drives.
