Hi Guys :-)

The kids are wanting to play Indiana Jones and My Sims Racing....so we gave them a go and they green screen...

On reading in here i see that I may have to update some files on the wii to be able to do this with these backups...

I recal Fibre saying he had taken out this new cIOS and went back to rev 9 or 10 because it was glitchy and wondered if by adding this cIOSrev13a are we going to loose the ability to play other titles for the sake of playing a couple of games or is this rev13a the way to go?

At present I have:
PAL wii system version 4 with cIOS_Rev10 installed, USB loader 1.1 and wiigator gamma launcher 0.3

I have downloaded the new USB Loader GX and the rev13a along with IOS38-64-v3610.wad and I wondered what order i should install these?

Is it best to add the rev13a first then do the USB forwarder or does it matter what order I do this.

I can see Larrys tutorials for both and dont think I will have a problem but like to confirm im doing right b4 I go installing :-)

Comments and pointers appreciated :)
L

Punch out and Indiana Jones runs good in cIOS38_rev13a NOT b.

1) Backup Launcher is old. Neogamma is new http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884
1A) to get the Neogamma Channel http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=165485
2) Superdump (Requires homebrew) dump your game in 30 minutes. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/780900
3) Make your Wii skip updates! Use preloader 0.29 and enable skip updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
4) Scared of Bricking your Wii? Make an NAND backup! Install BootMii http://bootmii.org/install/

Thanks Zork..

So will my Wanikos USB loader 1.1 run these games with rev13a installed or will I have to install the USB Loader GX also?

Well....

I installed rev 13a and the USB Loader GX

But Indy instead of a green screen just crashed the wii with a black scren now and the My Sims Racing is the same.

All other games are working as normal, I even updated the LoaderGX using my wirless hub and downloaded the covers for our games and it all worked..

So I just dont know how to get Indy and Sims Racing to work, I tried the 002 fix in the loaders settings and still the same..

Suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Take a look at this walk through

http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1959860/775222/

It's made to help with those green screens.

When I installed rev 13a I did see it going in and the first couple of steps said success and then one said error and gave a ret error .. then it moved on and finished saying it was complete...does this sound correct do you all get a ret error when installing rev 13a or should I install it again?

Thanks again

Also I noticed larrys guide says

cIOS38_rev13a:

Start the Homebrew Channel and run "cIOS38_rev13a Installer".

Select IOS35 for the IOS to use for Instillation.

The guide you posted a link to says:
6. Load up HBC with the SD card and go to the apps folder. Load the rev13 installer folder.
7. Select IOS 249 and install it. This installs rev13a.

I followed larrys guide and selected IOS35 and im wondering whats the difference..?

I believe that Larry guide is made so you can Run games from the disk channel. The guide I put on is made for people who use USB loaders, or the uses a backup loader. Such as Neogamma or Wii Backup Loader Gamma.

Are the games your getting green screened Pal as well?

Hi,
Yes the games that were greenscreening are both pal, I brick blocked them and both came up as pal in there to, I dont run anything but Pal games.

So have I done wrong following larrys guide to install rev 13a and Selecting IOS35 for the IOS to use for Instillation.?

As I say all other games seem fine although never tied them all just ran a few to see they were still good.

The games do not green screen now since i did the rev13a install to ISO35 instead they now freeze the wii at a black screen and i have to hold the power button till it powers off and power up again..

Do you think I should go back and install rev13a again and choose Select IOS 249 this time or will this screw things up?

Can I remove the install of rev13a to IOS35 or is this not a problem?
Thanks again

NEVER remove any cIOS's this is how people brick their Wii.

It's always better to reinstall or install over OLD cIOS such as

cIOS38_13a will install over cIOS38_10

or

cIOS38_10 will install over cIOS38_13a

So If Ive installed it to IOS35 then its not going to make any difference to my usb loader then is it?

Should i reload it and choose ios249 then ?
