Hi all, noob here. I apologise if there has been some similar posts to this problem.

Here goes.. this is my (short) scenario about my flashed xbox 360.

I bought an xbox 360 console knowing that i could save loads of money when buying games, all i had to do was get an xbox 360 flashed, get the games, burn and play! Simple as that....i thought!

I bought a flashed xbox 360 from a friend of a friend, he told me that he had installed ixtreme 1.6 (which is the latest one, i think). He also gave me 2 backups which were prototype and street fighter 4.

Now heres where i got confused...

These games work perfectly, and because they worked i decided to get some backup games myself and burn them. I got Top Spin 3, Terminator Salvation and Assassins Creed.

As i was new to all this, i watched some videos on youtube about how to burn a backup game using ImgBurn. I bought some verbatim dvd+r dl discs and followed the videos as thay said.

Layer break set to 1913760
Write speed set at 2x

Loaded the .dvd file in ImgBurn and burned my first game. The game i burnt was Top Spin 3, i tested it in my xbox 360 and it worked. WooHoo!

I then tried burning Terminator Salvation, but it never worked, a message comes up as Disc is dirty. I have used about 5 dvds now and tried many different ways of sorting this out but still doesnt work and i dont want to give up.

I never use xbox live and after reading some threads and posts i followed some links to tutorials about abgx360, so abgx360 report showed that the iso passed the stealth and all other verification was successful the report also said in brackets (wave 3 requires ixtreme 1.51 or later) as i was told my xbox 360 was installed with ixtreme 1.6 i assumed the game would work. So i tried burning it again and it never worked.

Im confused that prototype works, which is a wave 3 game and Terminator Salvation doesnt work.

Anyone please help.. I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

What type of DVD drive do you have?

Since you are using proper media, setting layer breaks right, I would say that it is the laser struggling to read the game data through the dye of the disc.

Also, what type of DVD burner are you using and how new is it?

Hi, the DVD drive in the xbox 360, i have been told is a Lite-On drive, which has been flashed with ixtreme 1.6 and i have the new dashboard, i think its called NXE.

I have burnt 2 games and they both seem to work with the discs im using which are verbatim. Top spin 3 works and i have just tested Fight Night Round 4, it works but Terminator Salvation and Assassins Creed dont work.

If some games work and some dont how would the DVD burner be the problem? Im using a Toshiba DVD burner, its only a few months old, hardly ever used it.

Thanks.

Usually dirty disc errors are either media or the burner is causing problems to the disc when it burns. Sometimes it can be by a dirty laser on the XBOX 360, but Lite-ON drives are fairly new so I'm not so sure that could be the issue. There is a test that you can do on discs but for the life of me I can't remember what it is right now. Maybe another member will come along and help out. If I think of it or find it, I will let you know.

Kind of my standart answer: Burn faster.
These media give best results when burned with 8x speed as they don't support 2x at all (but I guess you mean 2.4x).
Also when you use the .dvd file you don't have to set the layerbreak manually because the .dvd file contains all needed informations and does that for you.
Also if imgburn still doesn't work, try clonecd (not clonedvd).

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

I read on some posts that you have to set the book type, or bit setting.

I use ImgBurn and have never set any of those and some of my games work fine but some dont. So could it be because of that some of my games dont work?

Thanks

I believe book-type only matters if you have older firmware.

That's all contained in the .dvd file. Read my earlier post, I already gave you your answer.

sorry, i just read your earlier post again. I thought the booktype and bitsetting was an additional thing to change for better luck.
