Hey, i've been having problems with my 360 recently, RRODing for the first time about 3 months ago.
i got the team xecuter quick fix kit to stick on the ram chips on the motherboard, that worked fine, until i started getting game freezes with white dotted artifacts after random intervals.
i tried the putting pressure on the ANA chip after looking on the internet for fixes. unfortunately that hasn't helped too much only made the crashing more random.
Earlier on today i tried placing something more solid/efficient at holding the ANA chip down and as i put the 360 back together it RROD'd.
I'm at my wits end at what to do.
i really don't want to get another 360 as i'm not sure about how to flash newer ones as i used a Xeno top gear for my current one back in 2007 and dunno if it's still possible to do them with it.
So yeah, if anyone can help me out and let me know if there's anything i can do or to tell me my 360 is fooked and if so give me some advice on flashing newer 360s.

Sorry if you've heard all this before but i've searched all over for solutions and i can't find any specific to my problem.

Have you tried the x-clamp fix? I've done this on loads of xboxes and they are all still out there working fine!

Flashing new 360's is still relatively easy but if you buy new you'll get a lite-on drive and you would then need to buy a key extractor (or get someone to flash it for you!).

Ok, was kinda avoiding the x clamp fix as i'm a tad nervous taking the xclamps off, last thing i want is to slip and break the board, but i shall try it. thanks for the quick response.

I've used the x-clamp fix on 10 360's that that were manufactured before the new heat sink i replaced the stupid x-clamps with
8 m5 5x10 machine screws
16 nylon flat washers flat washer+ screws - under $7 hardware store
1 tube of artic silver from radio shack 9.99
1 spray bottle of isopropyl alchol highest percent (i use 91% or goo gone(its quicker ive seen other people use it i wont personally)
qtips to clean cpu and gpu to mirror finish.
I have stated I have performed this on 10 xbox 360's so far 2 months later and many days of 5 hours of playing call of duty
The Red Ring Of Death has not returned in 2 months :-)
my xbox was manufactured in 02-07-2005
also I keep my xbox 360 flat for more ventilation (and not have to worry about my kids knocking xbox 360.

nice, i've bought a kit off ebay for about £3.70 that has all the coolant paste and stuff and the washers. with regards to taking the clamps off is there any recommended method to get them off easily without the risk of slipping and hitting the motherboard?

I used long nose plyers, just twist the end of one leg on the xclamp, then go to the next one, once 2 are off it should pop off very easy!!
