I want to install a hard disk drive in my ps2 , and I was wondering the network adapter is okay for the slim version ps2 ?

no. only the fat ps2 can use the network adapter.
you're limited to a usb hdd.

No , slim already has network built in, and it's slim , 2-3 times slimmer than the old network adapter . You can install an external USB HDD , among with the software USBADVANCE and USBUTIL(for converting to HDD format ) . Compatibility list is here http://list.sksapps.com/ , last column is for USB HDD .

If you have a V12-V13 you can install hdd to your slim, but you need hddcombo or the hdd connect cable
