Despite a prolonged slump in hardware sales, Japanese console sales improved marginally week-on-week for the week ended June 21st, with the Nintendo DSi remaining at the top of the chart. WOW!!!!!!!
PS3 is outselling the 360 by less than 4000 units in a week IN JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Its due to microsoft buying into several popular japanese RPG series, the tales series for one. Clever, but their resourses could be better used elsewhere imo.

It's also because the bulk of great games aren't made in Japan anymore.
