Will I lose anything by upgrading to 5.02 GEN-A custom firmware?

Right now I have a fat psp-1000 that has custom firmware 4.01 M33. It works fine but I recently bought Loco Roco 2 and when I put the UMD in it said I need firmware 5.02 or higher to play. If I upgrade to firmware 5.02 GEN-A will I be able to play my Loco Roco 2 UMD Disc? I do not have a pandora battery. Also, will I be losing any functionality by upgrading? Is 4.01 M33 better than 5.02 GEN-A in anyway or should I just got for the higherst custom firmware release. Also, is there anyway to revert back to old custom firmware or do you need a pandora battery? (From what I understand I can upgrade custom firmware without a pandora battery if I already have custom firmware installed). Thanks.

Edit: I am assuming 5.02 GEN-A is the best because I believe 5.02 M33 does not exist?

I updated to 5.00 M33 through wifi and the loco roco 2 umd works great.
