every once in a while i get this message...... "You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (30 seconds remaining until timeout)" what am i supposd to do exactly?.....thanx in advance

if you see that every time you go to download something, you need to set your client to auto accept the files. you also need to make sure that the dcc ignore is off. you can run it if you want to, butyou'll need to set it up for what types of files will be allowed. most of the time its easier to just disable it.
If it only happens once in a while, there's really nothing you can do, there are some bots that you simply wont be able to connect to.

darthnip being an irc noob Myself also I thought that auto accepting files was a no no?? just wondering
if you do that does it mean that you can be sent files while your away from your pc and the pc will accept them .....will they open there selves in such a case ......
I was chatting in an irc room a few days ago n was offered the george michael song like 4 times only thing was I never asked for it so refused each time

yes onjoins/onparts are a part of IRC that sucks. if you have your antivirus software up to date, you shouldn't have a problem. you wont get anything that can open itself or anything. The best thing to do is keep in mind what you've requested, and remember that when you go thru your download folder. If it doesn't look like you wanted it, chances are you need to delete it. This stuff really doesn't happen that often anymore anyway.
another question, how can i look up channels that have a specific theme....i.e. a channel for people who create their own animation (just an example)....thanx
