Total newbie question. How can I make a backup of my xbox dvd games. I'm installing the openbox mod chip.

First you need to install de evolution-X dashboard, if you have done that you can ftp to your x-box there you wil find a d-drive (thats the dvd player in your xbox) now you can copy the dvd to your pc's hard drive.
then you must create a iso file with Xiso after you have done that you can burn the iso with your favoite burning software.

Is there a way to make a backup without using the Xbox as a software filter. I have a dvd burner and dvd-rom drive.

HEY GUYS I GOT A ENIGMAH MODCHIP. I JUST INSTALLED IT.BUT I CANT BURN GAMES IS THERE A SOFTWARE TO CHANGE THE FILES FOR ME?DO I HAVE TO DO IT MYSELF AND I ONLY HAVE A CDR-W IS THIS GONNA BURN MY GAMES? SOME ONE HELP ME PLEASE!

To burn xbox games you need to install a mod chip into your xbox (i installed a matrix, no solder and you can update the bios without removing the mod chip).
After you get that installed, you need to run Evolution X Dashboard from a CD-RW disc or you can install it directly to your harddrive to replace the microsoft dashboard.
Once you get that installed, you will need to hook up your xbox to a network (i have a DSL router, works great). Once the xbox is on teh network and has an IP address, you will need to FTP into the xbox from your PC, enter the IP address of your XBOX. The login info is this:
user: xbox
password: xbox
(this is for the evolution x dashboard)
Once you ftp into the xbox, it will show 6 folders.
The C: is the main folder.
The D: is your XBOX's DVD Drive (thus where the game we are trying to backup is located)
Now you want to download all teh files from the D: to your computers HD.
After it finishes, you need to create an XBOX iso file (xbox games will not read in your pc's dvd drive, just will show you a layout similar to dvds just a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder).
Use xISO for this.
Once you create ISO, burn it to a blank dvd+rw with nero (this way you can test it before you actually use a dvd+r).

CSERIKE, YOU STUPID ?£$?£$£@! You have used our private messages for _SELLING PIRATED XBOX GAMES_. How ******* stupid a person has to be to do this? If I would be a really nasty a**h***, I would hand out your email address and your IP addresses to feds immediately. But as I don't like to do that, I'm just going to make sure you will stay banned forever.

Because the forum is full of labels stating "NO PIRACY IN ANY FORM IS ALLOWED" blinking all over the pages and still some people try to do the most disgusting abuse of the system and SELL pirated material by using our discussion forums for their own benefit.
Do you understand how risky this is for us -- the seller probably doesn't end up in jail, but we, AfterDawn.com owners, might end up in jail because of morons like that. Yes, that is the new "editor-in-chief is responsible of material posted in discussion forums" law that has been implemented in Finland (where our site operates from).
So, I have pretty much all the rights to be rude when I try to block illegal activity from our forums and still some people very willingly violate the rules. And telling me "explain the rules" is useless, since when you joined, you have been asked if you would have understood the rules. And because you're member now, you have replied "yes, i understand".
But anyway, next such violation where someone is caught of selling illegal material using our forums in any way, we _WILL_ hand out the email and IP details to that user's home country's officials.

What must be the structure of the files on my hd?
I have made a backup of the harry potter game, and try to burn it on a dvd disk with nero and diskjuggler but the game will not run.
i have copied al the files on my d disk in the dir potter.
