Bios and Evox Effects on Backup. HELP!!!

I have been using the same bios and evox dash for two years now, and all of a sudden I have had trouble backing up NCAA04 and MOH Rising sun. The games load, but I get the dirt disk error half way through loading. I have set IGR, cleared cache, and time, but error occurs. I am using the matrix mod, and the media is compatible. Could the evox and bios version be causing this??? Please Help!!!

never hurts to use newest bios.the dirty disk errors i've seen were all related to thompson laser problems.the last one i dealt with had a lot of dust in the box and some on the mirror.i blew it out with compressed air after taking dvd drive apart.it worked after that but i felt like the laser was on it's last legs so i replaced it.the other problems with game loading i've seen was poor media.i have become a convert to ritek G04.
