Hiya,
We are going to need a LOT more info than that...

What video are you taking about?
VHS?
Analogue Camcorder?
Digital Camcorder?
Video CD?
DVD?
PVR?
AVI?
DivX / XviD?
MPEG-1?
Mpeg-2?
Quicktime MOV?
etc.
etc.

And that is just the INPUT format!!!!

What format do you want it to be stored in?
Video DVD?
S/VCD?
PAL?
NTSC?

What do you mean "still doesn't help"???

The guide is no good? have you tried it?

or are you looking for a SINGLE program that will do everything for you?

Bear in mind that AVI is NOT a format, it is a container file (Audio Video Interleave), the video stream of which can be one of a number of formats and of an unknown quality, the audio stream can be one of a number of formats and of an unknown quality. (all is dependant upon the CODECs used)

If you are in America (NTSC region) you cannot use MPEG audio in your final DVD.

You see why these questions have to be asked?

There is no one program that does all that for AVI files (unless someone else knows of one, it would be like finding the Holy Grail), as that is one of the most problematic areas you could attempt....

Hope this helps....
