st_pat,

Alcohol 120% is a $$$$ virtual Drive (a pretend drive your PC has on the HD)

You can have other virtual drives for free :-)

Pete

Ooohh Nero is an excellent burner with many B&W, well worth the $69.99

Alcohol 120% is very good at backing up copy protected PC games which Nero cannot do.

I used Alc120 A LOT on my old win98 computer. It could burn ANYTHING, especially PC games...that I owned of course.

I've heard there were conflicts (very bad ones, blue screen bad) between Alcohol120% and WindowsXP. Is this true? (Anybody here had that happen, heard of this going on??) ...I just got a comp, I'm very, very careful...and scared.

What about Daemon Tools vs Alcohol?

OAKside, I used the 30-day trial for Alcohol with no problems and I'm running XP Pro, but that's just me :) You might check the Alcohol forums over at cdfreaks for more info.

As an aside - I ended up going with BlindWrite5 and am extremely happy with it especially with BW5 Tweaker - good stuff! I've been running Daemon for a while now with no issues - it works quite well.

THANKS. I just saw some stuff at, of all places, the Officail Alcohol page. some users complained of Earlier versions, I suppose they're fixed by now. I loved Alc120, I'll also check out BlindWrite though. I've never read about it--only seen it.

I've had Alcohol 120% on my machine for over a year along with Daemon Tools and no issues - XP OS.
