Hi Guys.

I suspect I am doing something wrong here!

I have ripped an original DVD with DVD Decrypter in ISO mode. It was a single layer disk and less the maximum allowed for a direct copy. No DVD Shrink. i.e no compression or stripping out of extras, or audio tracks etc.

I then burned the new DVD using DVD Decrypter and the ISO image. This was succesfull, and plays on my standalone player OK (if a little noisily), these were cheap disks, so I am happy.

However,I was suprised to find that I cannot play that disk on my PC, as PowerDVD and Windows Media Player both say that there are copyright issues!

Should I have copied in a different mode, with different settings, or used different software?

Thanks

lol, nope

sometimes these softwares have issues playing DVDs all you need is to download DVD43

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd43.cfm

you just run that then put your DVD in and it will play perfectly (99% Sure)

The method you have used to back-up a DVD5 is perfect. IE ISO read then ISO write. You really shouldnt have a problem if you stick to this method. Have you tried playing the offending disks on a friends PC?

Hi

Thanks very much for you answers fella's.

I now think that this is a media quality question. I did say that I was using cheap DVD's! :-) (Bulkpaq Orange x4 -R)

I have just re-burned this movie (with the same ISO file) to a more expensive disk (DVD +RW), and it plays in my PC and the standalone player just fine, and it is a LOT quieter when running in my player!

THe copyright warnings just blew me off the scent!....lol

Thanks for your help
