my backups play fine in my sony & pioneer standalone and also a pacific and logix but seem to go funny half way through in anybody elses. i have used datasafe and ritek orange grade a disks. i use dvd decrypter, dvd shrink and clone dvd. does anybody know the problem? the other players play other peoples dvd-r's so why not mine.

Datasafe (rubbish) , ritek g04 orange are actually overprints... I use Ritek G04 DVD-R X4 media branded either RiDisc/Ridata/Ritek and have 99% success rate.

Could be down to frimware you are running on whatever writer it is that you have (???)

I have had 99.9 % sucess since I switched to Ritek / ridata branded media. you can get them in the USA from Meritline.com , Rima.com or Supermedia.com
