its a jvc th-a5r home cinema system and according to the JVC repair guy its got a software problem that will either be very expensive or impossible to repair. It started with the door not opening to insert the disc. Hes trying to sort it out with JVC but he doesn't hold much hope for them responding positively. I don't have any detail yet on it but has anyone ever experienced this type of problem?

any ideas on what steps to take if repair guy can't solve the problem?
