What am I doing wrong and why am I doing it?
This is it, Blindwrite suite 4.3.1.32 - dump the image with Extract subcodes checked. Nibble is checked and adapt speed is checked and I 've set min - 1 , max - 8.
.bwa file I made in the CD-ROM at x 16 (that gave me "perfect" curve) saved in the same folder as image with the same name.
Next I burn the image - select folder with the image (Play.BWI)
CD Image Verification:
Image consistancy - O.K
Sector headers - Correct
Read errors - None detected
Weak sectors - None detected
File systems - File system not found
Physical media - Found. Use DAO PW or PQ
Synthesis - Image requires some special attn.
Recommendations - Use DAO PW or DAO PQ

Write CD-ROM

So I use DAO Pw and set speed at x 8.
The end product doesn't work - copies the disc but when I try to play it the disc just spins and spins......and spins.................and spins

I know I'm overlooking something really stupid, can anyone help a rapidly aging idiot?

I've tried patching the image with CDClone and .bwa file using Twinpeak in A-Ray but got the same results.

O.K

I've given up trying on this one, I guess that my hardware can't cope with the protection I'm trying to back-up?
Am I right?
I even got a copy of blindwrite 4.5 and tried it that way (read somewhere that was best software to try)

I take it you're using your Sony DVD/RW to do this? Very few DVD burners are able to handle the newer protections :(

One option would be to relace your CD-ROM with one of these bad boys:

The LiteOn burners have a very good track record of being able to defeat game protections. Burning bliss for only $34.50!

Hope this helps :)

Job done!
Followed a post by CDKILLER here:

Changed a few things, checked extract subcodes and max writing speed to 4X. Used old BWA builder to make file and then loaded into BWA Builder 5.1 to clean it up(not sure if it would have made a difference).
But I'd given up until I read his post, CHEERS ALL
