Ok, no problem, maybe i find another way to get my MC working, maybe I don't. ;)
Btw, here(Sweden) you can buy newer Datel Memorycards that don't need a bootdisk much cheaper then Sonys "Original".

Sorry for my bad english

Thanx for all the hard work Stinky.

I downloaded both of your disks, but as I read through this thread am I to understand that those of us with a slim Ps2 v12 that your disks will not work for us to use for rom emulation?

I am getting the SWD 3.6 and the Ps2 Magic Switch for a mod.

Also, I think its very cool that we can use it to watch DIVX movies.
I didnt know it could do that.

You can use this disk with any version of PS2. You just CAN NOT use it as an exploit with the ver 12 ps2, thats all.

Plus even though Hdloader will boot up, since you dont have an internal hdd it will tell you it was not detected and wont let you go past that screen.

Rom emulation and everything should work just fine with it though.

This might be a stupid question but can you burn it using windows media player or does it have to be a Nero or roxio, the reason i ask is it does not work at all even followong your instructions. Just asking is all.

If you are not getting it to work using the instructions provided and Nero then you will have less luck with your own burning app. The reason being that its straight forward with the instructions for Nero, and if you knew a different burning app well enough that you could burn a working copy that way, you would also be able to follow the instructions for Nero well enough that you would not have just asked that question.

Try reading the instructions again. Maybe you missed something. Also double check that you have a mod chip to play backups with. No matter how many times I mention that you MUST HAVE ONE, people still seem to miss that part.

I couldn't get it to work with Nero either, but I tried to burn it with Alcohol 120% in "PS2 Mode" and then it worked just fine with my Duo-chipped PS2.

my playstation is chipped, however i don't know which chip it is.(i bought it from my brother)i didn't want to wreck my slim line just yet. The problem i'm having is there is no boot disk folder and I don't know where to put the leftover elf files. I put the right files in what i belive to be the right folders but i still have elf files left. I have burned several cd with no effect. I know how to use Nero I just don't like to, i screwed me on a very important project a ways back. "Cheers big ears".

tweak01,

are you trying to make an exploit cd? Or are you trying to just burn a full working copy of my aio cd?

You dont need to put ANY .elf files into ANY folders for the aio cd, just put them ALL on the root of the cd. You should NOT be moving ANY files around in ANY of the cd's I made. Just take ALL the contents of the aio cd folder and drop them to the root of your cd. It will boot every time.

I think you are making this harder than it needs to be.

TOSHIX,

So you got the exploit to work? and now it boots you into launchelf just fine? What you need to do is knife/slide card the AIO cd from my site into the ps2. You should have added all your snes roms onto this CD before you burned it. You can then set launchelf to load snes station from cdfs with whatever button you want to default to. Then when snes station loads you will see all the folders on the root of the cd. Click on the folder for your snes roms and they should all be in there.

Double check that the extension of your roms are .smc or they wont show up in snesstation.

Also you may not need to knife/slide in the aio cd, I havnt tried it that way. I have a mod chip so it works different when you press the eject button.

Since launchelf doesnt care about a ps2 disk id it should be fine to eject the exploit trigger disk and just load the aio cd after. It should boot fine from there.

Well anyway the reviews that you are getting makes think more and more about my computer skills. Again thanks if it doesn't work this time i know the problem is on my end. If it does work for me then your are good. "Cheers big ears".

I just wanted to say thanks for the smurfy boot disc. After recently modding the Xbox and having like 5 decent and easy-to-find dashboards to choose from, I was surprised the PS2 didn't have the same mess of vanity-project software. More surprisingly, the one I did find (that would be yours) worked on the first try, which is more than I can say for the small stack of DVDs I burned through trying to make a functional Xbox boot disc.

Anyway, short story long: see previous paragraph. Long story short: thanks.

Stinky_1, I am a TOTAL NEWBIE(32yr old male looking to get back into vid games :)) and looking for some insight with your app.

I got a half broken PS2 from my brother-in-law. I fixed it with parts from Ebay.

In anycase, I got a network ctlr and 80GB hdd. I made an image and usied WinHIIP and loaded it to hte hd via my hot swap drive cage. I have bought hdloader.

When I load the stuff up, the 1st thing is that I do not see the slus... file like some of the other games I have backed up. Did I miss something?

Is this possible to run via hd loader and my hdd?

Also, do my MP3z have to be in to directory you created called mp3's?

Thanks for you help and this app looks promising?

nappy,

Get a mod chip or some other boot method for copied games.

Burn my cd or dvd following the instructions.

Put your HDD int he ps2.

Put the aio disk in the ps2 and turn it on

Run hddloader and then it will format your hdd for the ps2 IN THE PS2 and set it all up. You do not need to run your hdd in the PC unless you are transfering games to it that way. But my aio disk does NOT need to be installed on the hdd itself. It is just software that tells the ps2 what to do with the hardware.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.

So if I understand u, my method of:
- using my PC & WinHIIP to copy data to the 80gb hdd
- connecting it backup to the ps2
- using my original media of hdloader to run games backed up to the hdd will not work for your set of utils?

The two things in your util set i am salivating over are mp3 player and fap_link!!

if you have an original version of hdd loader you can actually install most of the home brew apps that are on my disk to your hdd. In fact you may be able to put my disk on by transfering it from within your original copy of hddloader. Then when you want to run the apps justrun the image from the hdd. You wont be able to play snes though it doesnt have hdd support for the roms.

The esiest thing is to just get a cheap mod chip and have it installed. It opens a whole new world for your ps2. And then you can just run my disk rather than messing around with the original one.

Hope that helps.

Final question(and THANKS! for your patience).

Using the MP3 player, do the MP3s need to be on the CD or can I create a partition somehow(if so, how do I) on my hdd with all of the MP3s?

I have 40GB laptop hdd in an external usb enclosure I would like to use with all of my MP3s on it.

Thanks again

I am not sure. I havnt played with the mp3 player at all.

You can use the hdd manager tools on my aio disk to create a partition and put whatever you want in it.

Yes I do know what a ROM is and nobody "needs" them.

They are video games from older systems that have been converted to a file that can be used by emulators.

They will say

.nes
.smc

and others for different systems.
