Ok. I downloaded replay media catcher. It seems to have downloaded most of an .flv file for one of my videos. However, it wants me to register to play even that partial file. I just want to make sure it "works" okay before I invest $40!

Here is my challenge!
http://you.video.sina.com.cn/b/442442-1496285781.html
Yes it is all in Simplified Chinese. But none of the ideas presented to seem to help me. I was able to use some of the techniques at other websites. This one and another one are my choices. Also how to download videos from Yahoo movies? Those at my favorites portion would seem to be flash or flv movies? right?

Thanks greedyg. am happy that someone is trying. Actually this is pretty important for my presentation(Type 1 Restriction modification system as Molecular motor). If i can't get this video i will have to put several screenshots of this video but then it won't be that effective

You'll need to get a program to download and save the file from the mms server. There are several programs for this.
wget is a unix program ported to run on Windows that I think will do this for you. Availabe at
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/wget.htm
or
http://xoomer.alice.it/hherold/
From the command line type:
wget mms://global.stream.port.ac.uk/science/biology/nanonet/momol32-300.wmv
Good luck.

@Greedyg: Thanks buddy. Atleast you tried. I really appreciate that.
@onefrom: I am using ubuntu as my operating system. When I gave the command you suggested, it said this:
mms://global.stream.port.ac.uk/science/biology/nanonet/momol32-300.wmv: Unsupported scheme.
What should i try next?

baccilus, I was able to get the file using Streambox. You can try and find the program or I can mail you the file if you send me your address. I'll give you a disposable address for me:

OK, found another easy way to get the file. Get a copy of Hidownload at http://www.streamingstar.com/ You can use it as an evaluation copy. The program almost seems worth purchasing. Then in HiDownload go to File, Enter URL to Download:
mms://global.stream.port.ac.uk/science/biology/nanonet/momol32-300.wmv#0;1.000;0;0;1:2;7:2
It will save the file to your hard drive.
